My Worth
I have a lot of good reasons to take care of myself, the most important one is my grandkids. To them I am "The Rock" they count on. They also count me in on everything they do.
It's wonderful when someone has that much faith in you, and I love being a major part in their life. The passion that ignites the "want to" in me, is going to make me embark on the greatest challenge of my life.
I want to grow old, old enough to see what they grow up to be. I want to be around to be the babysitter for their kids, and watch their life unfold.
It may not work for everyone, but being a grandpa is what I do better than anything I have done, or ever will do in my life. I am in my "comfort zone" when I am doing something with my grandkids.
I feel like a blueprint for the future. If there is ever a need for a poster child for old grandpa's, i'm the man. If I could have one wish, instead of wishing for something for myself, my wish would be that every kid on this earth could have at least one loving grandparent.
It doesn't matter if you are a great-grandpa, a foster grandpa, or just a grandpa; the love is still the same. If you hear Papaw, Papaw over and over again and again, you're doing something right.
Being a good grandpa might be in the way you answer this question, do you want a kid to ask you, "Where are we going, Papaw?" Rather than, "Where have you been?"
