"The Cat"

This is the third time that cat has climbed up in that tree, the first time I went after him, the cat scratched me.

Well, I called the fire department and told them about the cat, they said they were sorry to hear about that.

But they told me the first time they rescued him it was free, but the next time they would have to charge me.

So, I got out the ladder and climbed up in the tree and this time the cat bit me.

I climbed back down, I didn't know what to do, so I went in the house and got my .22

My wife said, "Wait! What do you think you're going to do?" I said, " Don't worry, I won't shoot the damn cat, i'm just going to shoot and scare it out of the tree."

That worked well, the cat ran down and hit the ground, then over to me and knocked me down.

Here I sit, face to face, with that ornery cat, on this muddy ground. If that cat ever climbs that tree again, i'll cut that damn tree down.
